First Year Faculty Teaching Academy at Penn State Harrisburg

The First Year Faculty Teaching Academy is a one-year learning track that includes orientation to the university and campus, training in pedagogy, consultations with an instructional designer or educational technology specialist, and myriad teaching and support resources. Pedagogical topics addressed include student engagement through questioning strategies and technology, effective feedback and grading practices, application of Maslow’s Hierarchy in classrooms and courses, and balancing and integrating teaching and research, among other topics.
